This week, Obama made another one of his brilliant statements, in which he said, “…the prevailing borders before the 1967 Arab-Israeli war – adjusted to some degree to account for Israeli settlement in the West Bank – should be the basis of a deal….” Of course, he is referring to a “Peace Deal” between Israel and the so-called Palestinians.
To even suggest that Israel go back to her 1967 Holocaust borders, or anywhere near them, is insane. By vote of the United Nations on November 29, 1947, Israel was granted a portion of the land originally given to her by God, for Jews who survived the Holocaust to return to. There is no doubt that it was a vote of guilt and I’m sure, these 63 years later, that most of the 33 countries voting for Israel to exist were confident that she would be annihilated in a matter of days by Arab armies attacking from all sides.
They were right on at least a portion of that statement. Arabs did attack the day after Israel’s independence was officially declared on May 15, 1948. The little, inept Israeli army, without weapons and with soldiers coming out of the Holocaust, unable to speak the newly re-established Hebrew language, stood and fought heroically for the land that was rightfully theirs and they won. By the grace, mercy and intervention of the one true God, they won. And, they’ve won every war since then – except the PR war.
Israel has taken a huge trouncing in the PR war because of the lie that grows and grows like a nasty, spore-bearing weed in the finest of gardens. No matter how many times you pull it out, it is still there spreading it’s filth and rooting in deeper.
Those who tout Obama’s speech as one in support of the Arab Spring, need to think again. Not one of these countries have a government ready to step in and rule the country. In fact, they are all being ripped apart by the Muslim Brotherhood for one purpose and that is to destroy Israel. The multitude of countries currently experiencing unrest need to remember that a hot, dry summer lay ahead and with it will come flames of destruction. Let us not forget that the King of Jordan was in the White House last week and he is one of the many Middle Eastern leaders who want the focus to be on Israel and not his country. Deflect the heat and turn it on Israel is his mantra and maybe no one will notice that his country is also targeted by the Brotherhood.
Truly a hot wind is blowing. The question is, will it be a sharav or a hamsin? I guess that depends on which language you speak. They are the same hot winds blowing in from the desert bringing insufferable heat and a fine, gritty sand that seeps through everything, along with suffocating heat. Will Hussein Obama try to further suffocate Israel by choking her ability to defend herself, or is he just another nasty, spore-bearing weed that needs to be pulled from the garden?
