Where Is Sarah?

I just read an article in Arutz Sheva about another eviction of Jews from Jewish homes on Jewish land in a Jewish country by Jewish police. This time, it was from Mitzpe Yericho, a community between Jerusalem and Jericho. If this is the community I’m thinking of, it is located high on a hill top along the highway toward Jericho. As the article read, this is a new addition to the town, a development called Yissa Beracha.

This type of action makes me furious. When I read something like this I cannot help but recall watching the removal of Jews from Jewish homes on Jewish lands in the Jewish country by Jewish police – and that would be from Gush Katif, more commonly known as the Gaza Strip. I watched that expulsion with absolute shock and dismay having believed it would never happen – certainly not in Israel; and I didn’t believe it even while I watched it. Now, six and one half years later, it is continuing. Jews are removed from Jewish homes on Jewish land because they are guilty of being Jews. How disgusting. How anti-Semitic.

Even more disgusting is the report of police brutality involved in the removals. Each time, the brutality increases, bringing more and more injury to those being removed and those who are legally standing in protest lines trying to stop the insanity. There is nothing wrong with protesting. There is nothing wrong with Jews building homes on their own land. The only thing that is wrong is the extreme hatred of Jews by the world that causes the pressure on the Israeli government – as disappointing as that body is – to demand Jews not build homes on Jewish land. It makes no sense.

The report reads of families being removed violently. Why is violence necessary? I’ve watched this happen again and again and I don’t see the families acting in a violent manner. Granted, I wasn’t there when this event was happening, but I’ve seen videos in the past and I’m aware of Jewish mannerism when these events occur. It always seems the violent ones are the police and I must ask WHY? Why do they have to become so violent? Is it self hatred because of the ill deed they are doing? Is it because they feel they need to be struck that they are striking the innocent? I don’t know. I find it disgusting and beyond my imagination that such a thing can happen – in Israel, of all places. What’s next? Yellow stars?

And the final blow to all of this, the government hired the watching Arabs to tear down the homes, which they did with great glee and mocking! Hmmm. I believe it was the mocking of Isaac that caused Ishmael to get kicked out of the camp to begin with. Where’s Sarah when we need her?
